    This programme is designed for nurses working at level 5 of the Career Framework for Health (Agenda for Change Band 5 equivalent) in district nursing, care home nursing, prison health and general practice nursing.

    Providing core theory and practice-based modules aimed at improving community nursing, this flexible programme lets you learn at your own pace.

    Throughout this programme you’ll complete four core modules (three taught and one work-based) as well as one optional taught module.

    Core modules include:

    • Contemporary Integrated Community Nursing (Year 1)
    • Leadership in Health and Social Care (Year 1)
    • Integrated Community Nursing Work-Based Learning (Years 1 and 2)
    • Improving Assessment and Professional Practice (Year 2)

    Optional modules could include:

    • Community Nurse Prescribing V150 (Year 2)
    • Integrated Care of Children and Young People (Year 2)
    • Long Term Condition Management (Year 2)

  • This programme has four core modules and one optional module in Year 2 so that students can tailor their learning to their role and interests.
  • In addition to taught modules, a work-based learning module will be undertaken over both years of this programme to help you evidence your learning and gain practical experience.
  • You’ll have a Clinical Guide determined and agreed between yourself and the Health Board that employs you who’ll support you throughout the duration of the programme.
  • Students secure funding for this programme through NHS Education for Scotland (NES) after being nominated by their health board or employer.

    Entry Requirements

     Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree pass  For programmes requiring Honours Degree applicants must have achieved the following grades:  Excellent  Good  Very Good

    English Requirements

    • IELTSMin 6
    • TOEFLMin 78

    English Program Requirements

    If you do not fall into any of the categories above you will need to provide proof of your English language ability through the International English Language Test System (IELTS) or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

    Duo Lingo

    For 2022-23 entry, the University has approved the use of the online Duolingo English test as evidence of English language ability. UWS will accept an overall score between 90-115 with no component score below 90.

    8. Pay the deposit

    You will be required to pay a deposit to secure your place at the university.

    9: Attend a TEG credibility interview

    The purpose of this interview is to assess if students are credible and genuine. At this stage you will need to prepare your CAS documents for review.

    10. Apply for Visa

    International students, including nationals from EEA or Switzerland, would require a student visa to study at UWS London.
