The Bachelor of Science in Music Industry Studies - Music Marketing and Promotion degree in the Hayes School of Music provides students with the knowledge and experience to join multiple fields in the music industry, including careers as publicists, managers, entertainment attorneys and record label executives.
Courses in the Music Industry Studies - Music Marketing and Promotion degree include a broad core in music industry studies as well as specialized classes in music management and marketing, legal issues in the music industry and experience running Split Rail Records, our student-run record label. A required business minor that will familiarize students with basic business and entrepreneurial skills they will need to develop successful careers in this field is also included in the degree, as well as musical training to prepare our students to work with musicians. Successful completion of all coursework leads to a capstone internship which generally occurs in a major music center.
