In our program – which features one of the largest collections of reading education faculty in the Southeast – you'll gain expertise in literacy education, instructional practice and assessment, enabling you to deliver high-level reading instruction and services to students in need of improvement. A clinical setting allows you to learn while working directly with the age range of students you will be educating after graduation.
App State's Reading Education program can help experienced educators qualify for endorsements, promotions and pay increases. If you have a bachelor's degree in a different field, a master's degree in education can lead to teaching licensure as you transition into the classroom.
