    Reach your personal and professional summit by  pursuing App State's Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership (EdD) – a terminal academic degree that prepares you to become a leader and agent of change in diverse educational settings, including public and private schools, colleges and universities, and community and government organizations.

    As an EdD student in the Reich College of Education (RCOE), you will engage in core leadership and research courses, learning to apply theory to practice to make educational systems more effective, more equitable and more sustainable.

    The program's professionally oriented concentrations allow you to gain advanced knowledge in your disciplinary specialization and prepare to take on higher levels of organizational leadership.

    Requirements and Admission Criteria for PhD in Educational Leadership at Appalachian State University

    Entry Requirements

    • Submit your graduate application online.
    • Pay the non-refundable application fee online.
    • Provide names of three references.
    • Upload your current resume or vita.
    • Submit official scores from the appropriate standardized test (GRE, GMAT, MAT). Test waivers may be available for certain programs.
    • Submit unofficial transcript(s) from all colleges or universities from which you earned a degree, or that you have attended within the past five years. Transcripts must be evaluated by a NACES accredited evaluation service(link is external).
    • Provide proof of English proficiency.
