The purpose of the Marketing Technology Certificate to allow students to earn industry certifications that will give them the opportunity to apply for jobs that our students would otherwise would not be eligible, while acquiring the necessary marketing skills needed.
The Marketing Technology certificate will improve responsiveness to the needs of both students and employers. There will be more recruiting opportunities with advanced training. Students from all areas of the K-State community will be able to earn the Marketing Technology certificate. Employers will have access to students with broad skill knowledge and know that their potential employees have specific competencies required to perform a job.
Opportunities for students to pursue industry certification is integrated into the core courses. Understanding the certification subject material will take place in the courses to assist students. Not only will these potential employees have certifications, but higher business skills as well. This can put students on specific career paths, improved career outcomes, and more competitive salaries. The objectives of the certificate are as follows:
- Improve responsiveness to needs of students and employers.
- Ability to recruit students for more opportunities.
- Differentiate our program from other marketing programs.
- Allow students from all areas to earn certificates.
- Establish stronger industry relationships.
