About Bachelor of Sports Management

Have you always loved sports and being part of a team? Are you drawn to a career involving sports management that could focus on a variety of areas including business, law, marketing, public relations, accounting and urban planning?

Starting this fall, the College of Education and Human Development's Department of Kinesiology will offer a new Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management degree that will provide students with coursework specific to sports-related businesses and prepare students to work in high-level competitive sports settings.

Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management will get firsthand knowledge and advice from guest speakers and lecturers employed at some of the most recognized sports entities in the world.

Entry Requirements

Transcripts:

High school (secondary school) transcripts from each and every institution must be submitted for review. If your high school is outside of the United States and not accredited by a U.S. Regional Association of Colleges and Schools, we recommend (not required) that you use a "course-by-course" (not document-by-document) evaluation service to ensure that your transcript is evaluated properly.

College transcripts from each institution attended during high school must be submitted for review. If you have attended college after high school graduation, you are not eligible to be a First-Year applicant and should submit a Transfer application. If your college is outside of the United States and not accredited by a U.S. Regional Association of Colleges and Schools, we require that you use an evaluation service that does a "course by course" evaluation to ensure that your transcript is evaluated properly (if you do not submit, your application will be incomplete).

Student Finances and Visas

Students that plan to enroll as part of an F1 program must submit documentation to the International and Postdoctoral Services Office (IPSO) through the AU International system. We recommend that students start the application process and submit additional documentation for the Form I-20 at least 90 days prior to the start of their intended semester to allow sufficient processing time for both admissions and visa documents.

Career Opportunities after Completing Bachelor of Sports Management

The sports management program prepares students for careers in management, marketing, and the administration of sport programs; careers may include, but are not limited to, working as a sports scout, athletic director, sports agent, sports business manager or a Sports Facilities Manager.

The sports management program prepares students to work in high-level competitive settings such as professional teams, NCAA organizations and other sport businesses and organizations.

Post-graduates may also choose to attend graduate programs in the field, such as business or law.
