About Master of Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

The DNP-Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (DNP-AGACNP) concentration offers education to become board-eligible as an Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP). This concentration prepares nurses to provide advanced patient-family centered care in settings with acute and/or chronically ill patients across the adult lifespan.

Full-time and part-time schedules are available. Cohort locations are on our Augusta and Athens campuses.

Committed to addressing the health care needs of adults who are acutely and critically ill, this program is designed to prepare nurses to provide the “5 Cs”: coordinated care, collaborative care, comprehensive care, consistent care, and cost-effective care.

Augusta University College of Nursing DNP program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Graduates of the DNP program are eligible to seek the following professional state licenses or certifications: Certification as an APRN Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and licensure as an APRN. Graduates of this program may take the exam for certification as an APRN in Georgia and other states as listed on the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. If you are interested in the DNP/AGACNP, FNP, PMHNP, or PNP, be aware that you must reside in either Georgia or South Carolina to attend the program due to the clinical requirements and need for instructors to visit you, your preceptor, and clinical site.
