About Bachelor of Medicine and Healthcare

The medicine & healthcare minor provides a curricular framework for Clarkson undergraduates to pursue a course of study that will introduce them to the interdisciplinary range of knowledge and perspectives needed to be an effective health practitioner. The medicine & healthcare minor offers a broad framework of study that will appeal to the many Clarkson undergraduates who aspire to pursue careers in healthcare fields. Required and elective courses relate directly to health professional practice and provide a suitably broad coverage of topics.

The minor includes a seminar to familiarize students with the variety of health professional careers and introduce students to working health professionals. It also includes a mandatory experiential component. Depending on course selection, students can complete most or all of their Clarkson Common Experience requirements while completing this minor. However, the minor does not satisfy all prerequisites for all health profession graduate programs; for example, pre-med students must take additional biology, chemistry and physics courses.

These application instructions are for non-U.S. citizens applying for first-year enrollment at Clarkson. If you have already earned some university credit, you should apply as a transfer student. To review your application, we need to receive all of the following materials and information according to Clarkson’s admission dates and deadlines:

Official secondary school transcript, mark sheets, or national exam scores.
Two letters of recommendation.
Test Optional-Official SAT/ACT scores, if submitted the scores will be taken into consideration during the admissions process.

Step Three

Applicants for admission who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents (green card holders) are likely to need to secure a student visa. (Students on certain visas may not require a student visa; please refer to the Student and Exchange Visitor Program document Who Can Study?)

For issuance of an I-20, students must show proof of financial support. There are two ways to show proof of finances:

Complete and return the Certificate of Finance Form included in our application packet or downloadable from our Web site. On this form you will need to show specific amounts of support and the sources of the support. You will also need to include the signatures of any sponsors or your parents, in addition to a signature from a bank official; or
Provide a certified letter from your sponsor indicating the amount of support available for each year along with a supporting letter from a bank official.
