About Bachelor of Elementary Education
In your freshman year, you'll begin with an orientation into the field of education focusing on what it means to be an educator and how your role as a teacher will impact future generations of citizens. During your first three semesters, you'll concentrate on increasing your content knowledge in subjects you'll teach in the elementary classroom -- social sciences, English language arts, mathematics and science.
During your fourth and fifth semesters, you'll begin to explore theory and pedagogy within the profession of education, and you'll take courses in child development, educational foundations, assessment and special education. Once you enter the professional development sequence, you'll take pedagogical methods courses and learn how to teach art, physical education, science, mathematics, reading, social studies and English language arts.
Your senior year will focus on field experiences in which you'll spend each day in a second- to sixth-grade classroom, partnering with a highly qualified practicing teacher so you can experience firsthand what it's like to educate young learners in a school setting.

Entry Requirements
For the 2022 admissions cycle, Clemson has adopted a test-optional policy. Applicants are not required to submit a standardized test score to be considered for admission to Clemson for the 2022-2023 academic year.
If you choose that test scores should be used, your scores must be submitted electronically by the respective testing agency. Clemson’s institutional code for SAT is 5111, and the code for ACT is 3842. Clemson super-scores both the SAT and the ACT. For the SAT, this means that the overall total SAT score will then be derived by taking the highest of the evidence-based reading and writing/math scores.
According to The ACT, superscoring at Clemson means that we “consider a student’s highest ACT section (or subtest) scores regardless of test date. The super composite ACT score is calculated as the average of the best ACT English, Reading, Math, and Science subject scores and is used as one of multiple factors in admission and financial aid.”
