This interdisciplinary minor in Linguistics is designed to examine the structure, historical evolution and socio-cultural roles of language through exposure to a variety of courses about language and linguistics from different disciplinary perspectives. Such exposure should convey the importance of language/linguistics and its study for a variety of career choices and contribute to students' understanding of human interaction, from the levels of the interpersonal to that of the global community.
