Overview The Environmental Engineering major, offered by Cornell University, is structured to provide students with appropriate background in the physical, chemical and biological sciences together with the mathematical, planning, analysis and design tools necessary to address complex environmental engineering problems. The graduate and research programs in BEE and CEE focus on water and wastewater treatment processes, fate and transport of contaminants in natural aquatic systems, design and management of environmental and water resource systems, environmental fluid mechanics, and hydraulics and hydrology.Program ObjectivesThe Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) of the Environmental Engineering Major are to:Produce graduates who demonstrate in their professional practice strong technical abilities and advance in careers in Environmental Engineering and related disciplines;Produce graduates who will complete advanced degrees in engineering and related professional fields;Produce graduates who assume leadership positions, and contribute to understanding environmental problems and the design, construction, and operation of solutions of societal problems involving environmental systems.
