Overview The undergraduate student may choose from one of two program of studies to earn the degree, dietetics or nutrition science. The dietetics track (Didactic Program in Dietetics) is intended for students interested in becoming Registered Dietitian. The nutrition science track is designed for students interested in molecular nutrition.Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition at Florida International University often go on to work in health care systems, home health care, food service, private business, research and educational organizations after graduation. As vital members of medical teams in hospitals, long-term care facilities and health maintenance organizations, they provide medical nutrition therapy—using specific nutrition services to treat chronic conditions, illnesses or injuries.Nutrition Science OverviewThe nutrition science track emphasizes the basic sciences—biology and chemistry—and uses this foundation to build up to the nutrition science core curriculum.
