    About

    Students will learn to translate ideas into practical design and mass production of innovative and cost-effective products. Gain in-depth knowledge of engineering design and new product manufacturing skills necessary for success in an engineering research and development environment.

    The Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management program prepares students to work in many different environments where management contributes to the success of engineering projects.

    Similarly, the Master of Public Policy and Administration will further advance your education and prepare you for a leadership position with the critical management skills youll need to succeed.

    Students will learn the fundamentals of science, engineering management, and business administration by concentrating on the development of critical thinking skills directed toward practical problem solving and informed decision-making.

    Coursework includes organizational behavior, policy design analytics, and project management.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    Students applying to the Accelerated Masters Program must have completed at least 60 credit hours with at least one full semester (12 credit hours) of applicable undergraduate study at the university.

    Students must be at least one full-time semester (12 credit hours) away from undergraduate degree completion in order to apply.

    Applicants are required to have a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0; however, please consult individual departments for specific minimum GPA requirements.

    Note: Only the co-terminal option of the Accelerated Masters Program can be used for this degree program.

    English Program Requirements

    International students who fit into any of the following categories will be considered to have met the requirement:

    • Residents of a country where English is the only official language and who is a native English speaker
    • Graduates of U.S. high schools
    • Completed the equivalent of Iowa State’s English 150 or 250 with a grade of B or better at an accredited U.S. 2 year or 4 year college or university.

    CONDITIONAL ADMISSION

    If you meet all admission requirements but do not meet our English proficiency requirements, Iowa State offers conditional admission to attend our Intensive English and Orientation Program (IEOP). If you would like to enroll in IEOP, on the application choose "I would like to enroll in Iowa State’s IEOP program before I begin the academic study.”
