About Structural Engineering (M.ENG.)
Illinois Techs Master of Engineering in Structural Engineering provides students with the advanced knowledge needed to design the built environment. Students learn how buildings and bridges may be designed to resist the forces imposed upon them by external loads, gravity, wind, and earthquakes. Up-to-date, computer-aided design techniques and the latest national building codes dealing with steel, reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, and masonry structures are treated.
Coursework includes topics in advanced structural theory and design, advanced structural analysis, and advanced reinforced concrete.

If you meet all admission requirements but do not meet our English proficiency requirements, Iowa State offers conditional admission to attend our Intensive English and Orientation Program (IEOP). If you would like to enroll in IEOP, on the application choose "I would like to enroll in Iowa State’s IEOP program before I begin the academic study.”
