Bachelor of Science in Anthropology

The Anthropology degree provides you with a comprehensive education concerning human biological, behavioral, cultural stability and continual evolution, studying contemporary societies and cultures around the world. As an Anthropology major, you will take foundational courses in the field of anthropology along with courses in cultural theory and practice, physical anthropology, and archeology.

Anthropology in Action

Hands-on experience will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to broaden your learning using various research methods and opportunities in:

Anthropology Practicum - This course can be field-based or on-campus research experience in a supervised setting related to anthropology. Practical experience is combined with scholarly research in the topical area of the practicum under the guidance of a faculty committee.
Internship in Anthropology – This is an off-campus experience in a supervised setting related to your anthropology major. Practical experience is combined with scholarly research in the topical area of the internship under the guidance of an interdisciplinary faculty committee.

The Bachelor of Science in Anthropology degree provides you with a solid foundation of disciplinary knowledge that will prepare you for diverse professional employment opportunities and graduate school.

The B.S. in Anthropology provides a flexible degree for studying past and contemporary societies and cultures around the planet. The curriculum allows you to focus on your interests in cultural anthropology, archaeology, or biological anthropology (including forensic anthropology). You'll get hands-on experience in studying people, communities, and organizations, and gain in-demand analytical skills for a rewarding job.

Graduation from high school with GPA of 2.5 with qualifying SAT/ACT test scores

First-Year Student Announcement:

First-year students applying to Kennesaw State University for the Summer, and Fall 2023 semesters may be admitted without an ACT or SAT score if they have a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
