Open to all majors. The Criminology minor focuses on (1) applying the sociological perspective in relation to crime and criminal law; (2) examining adult and juvenile offending; (3) critically evaluate the role of the criminal justice system as well as criminal justice actors and institutions (e.g., law enforcement, corrections); and (4) demonstrating the use of the social scientific method to study crime. A crucial element of this minor is the completion of an internship in an agency, program, or organization within the criminal justice system. (20-50 semester hours)
