FRENCH 3370 Survey Of French Literature I (Early Period) (LEC 3.0)

The history and development of French literature from Les Chansons De Geste through the important philosophers of the 18th century to Beaumarchais. Assigned readings are in French, and lectures are largely in French. Prerequisite: French 2170.

FRENCH 3375 Survey Of French Literature II (Modern Period) (LEC 3.0)

Survey of 19th and 20th century French-language literature. Course materials, assignments, and discussions are in French. Prerequisite: French 2170.

FRENCH 4330 Professional French (LEC 3.0)

Through practical examples and exercises, this course helps you develop linguistic proficiency, intercultural competence, and knowledge of the French-language professional world. Focus on applications in a variety of professional milieux, depending on students' specializations and areas of interest. Readings, lectures, and discussions in French. Prerequisites: Any French course at the 2000 level or above.

FRENCH 4340 French for Engineering (LEC 3.0)

This course focuses on developing the linguistic and intercultural skills students need to effectively communicate about engineering-related topics in French. May also cover other STEM topics. Taught in French. Prerequisites: Any 3000-level French course.

FRENCH 4360 French Culture And Civilization (LEC 3.0)

A survey of French culture and civilization of the past 2,000 years, including art, architecture, music, literature, geography and politics. Prerequisite: French 2170.

Requirements and Admission Criteria for Bachelor of French at Missouri University of Science and Technology

Entry Requirements

Missouri S&T seeks international students who have a strong probability of succeeding at the university. Admission is selective and based on a combination of secondary school core curriculum (a set of required secondary school classes), ACT and/or SAT composite scores (if available), grade point average (GPA), and class rank percentile. (For non-ranking schools, GPA will be used to evaluate your application).
International students must fulfill the same admission requirements as domestic applicants, but standardized test scores (ACT or SAT) are not required but should be submitted if available. Meeting the minimum requirements, however, does not guarantee admission, nor does it guarantee admission to a particular program. Missouri S&T appreciates well-rounded students and evaluates each application individually.
In addition, international students must fulfill Missouri S&T's English language proficiency requirement. Minimum English proficiency test score requirements are 80 for TOEFL, 6.5 for IELTS, 58 for PTE, or 105 for Duolingo. We also accept SAT English score minimum of 500.

    - On the Personal Statement screen, you may optionally submit a statement of 500 words or less, discussing a topic you wish the admissions committee to review. This statement may include your educational goals, discussion of personal circumstances, and so on.
    - The final screen, Review, will list any errors with your application (for example, if required information is missing). Once your application is complete, choose SubmitApplication.
    - Please note that an application fee will be required once your application has been submitted.
    - We accept unofficial transcripts and test scores during the application process. Your official transcripts and ACT/SAT test scores will be required after an offer of admission is made.
2. If available, request ACT or SAT scores be sent directly to Missouri S&T. Missouri S&T’s codes are as follows: ACT – 2398; SAT – 6876.
3. Official transcripts must be sent after admission. Please note the following:
