About Bachelor of Economics Teaching

The Social Studies Broadfield Education option at Montana State is specifically designed for students who wish to become licensed to teach the social sciences to middle and high school students in grades 5 through 12. Social Studies Broadfield students are enrolled in a combination of geography, history and political science coursework, as well as education coursework designed to prepare those students to thrive as teachers. Additionally, Social Studies Broadfield students may also obtain a teaching minor to strengthen their skills and reach more students within the classroom.

In addition to a teaching major, Economics (5-12), Government (5-12) and History (5-12) are available as related teaching minors.

Submit your transcripts. If you are applying as a freshman, please send us your high school transcript. If you are applying as a transfer student, please submit transcripts for all post-secondary coursework completed. Please be sure to send the front and back of your transcripts. Any transcripts that are not in English must be translated by a Certified English Translator in addition to the original transcript. We will review unofficial transcripts for admissions purposes but do require submission of official transcripts prior to registering for MSU courses.
