Northeastern University offers the Master of Applied Physics and Engineering as a full-time degree delivered on campus at its Boston campus in United States of America. Taught in English and completed over 2 years, the program equips students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for applied physics and engineering and related professional fields. The next available intake begins on January 1, 2027.
A student may complete an additional eight semester hours of thesis. Students may register for an additional two semesters of thesis work, Thesis (EECE 7990) (4 semester hours) or Thesis (PHYS 7990) (four semester hours), depending on the affiliation of the thesis advisor. A thesis committee is composed of an advisor and two faculty members from physics or electrical engineering.
The combined MS program in applied physics and engineering allows graduate students to receive training in one of three concentrations of the electrical and computer engineering department while also receiving fundamental graduate-level physics training that is relevant to that area.

For applicants applying for the 2022-2023 academic year, Northeastern University is test-optional and does not require standardized testing to complete an application for admission.
