Certificate of Undergraduate Study
This certificate is designed to provide close faculty mentoring of student investigations and projects for students who want to augment their interest in and commitment to philosophy of education. Students work under the guidance of a faculty advisor to extend their own belief systems through an examination of prominent educational philosophies and may focus on a particular educational problem or issue, the work of an individual thinker, investigation into a particular school of thought, strategies of educational policy analysis, or some other personally relevant topic. Study toward the certificate is open to any NIU undergraduate student with at least junior standing and consent of department. All requirements for the certificate must be completed within three calendar years.
