    About

Overview The Taxation program of Northwestern University helps students not only gain a firm understanding of federal, state, and international taxation, but they also learn how to analyze the tax law and communicate their specialized knowledge to other tax and business professionals.Program highlightsFull-time students benefit from the Tax Program's well-rounded curriculum. Professors model their courses to teach students how to interpret and apply the tax law to hypothetical and actual cases. Students are heavily exposed to a multitude of resources surrounding tax law, which helps strengthen and refine their research techniques and prepares them for practicing tax in a law firm, accounting firm, large corporation, or governmental agency. I want to find another Master Course Another major advantage of the full-time program is that professors get to know their students in a very short amount of time, particularly given the limited size of approximately 40 students in the full-time class. Residential faculty members have an open door policy for students to discuss and ask questions about the course material, and adjunct faculty members make an effort to be available for students outside of class. Having an accessible tax faculty is imperative for students' study of the tax law. In that regard, each full-time student also works with an assigned residential faculty advisor who mentors him or her throughout the year.Full-time students also build strong relationships with one another both inside and outside of the classroom. They work on problem sets for class, study for exams, and prepare for interviews together, forming strong professional relationships that extend beyond the Tax Program.
The Taxation program of Northwestern University is ideal for students who want to be immersed in a comprehensive nine-month study of tax law. Both professors and students refer to the full-time program as a "boot camp for tax law" because of its practical and rigorous curriculum.
