The health services administration program provides students with a fundamental understanding of the health care industry and its professional environment so that individuals can be successful in their chosen career path. Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the program:

Students will be able to identify and explain the role of key stakeholders in the health care system.
Students will be able to explain and describe the interrelationships between cost, quality, and access variables in terms of the health care system.
Students will be able to recognize and summarize the following significant pieces of health care legislation: Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, PPACA, EMTALA.
Students will be able to explain, distinguish, and categorize the following key management functions displayed by health care administrators: Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Leading, and Controlling.
Students will be able to analyze financial data and information in order to make justifiable decisions that impact the overall performance of health care organizations.
Students will be able to demonstrate competence in a wide variety of verbal communication skills and techniques across formal and informal settings.
