About Master of Curriculum and Instruction - ME

The Masters in Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) is designed for teachers and educators who have already earned a bachelors degree and have licensure in any content area at any age/grade-band level. Teachers entering the C&I Masters program at Ohio University are seeking opportunities to advance their knowledge, skills, and dispositions in instruction, curriculum design and evaluation. Coursework and clinical experiences are centered around teachers own classrooms or non-traditional educational settings and focus on innovations in student learning, curriculum development, pedagogy, assessment, mentoring, portfolio development and community involvement culminating in a Masters Research Project that is completed within the teachers own classroom, school, educational setting, or community. If started in the Summer, teachers finish the following summer. Please note: While working on the M.Ed. in C&I, educators must be actively employed in an educational setting during the Fall & Spring semesters to complete their clinical classes. This program does not lead to an initial or additional teaching licensure.
