About Bachelor of Nursing, Concurrent Program

In keeping with changes in health care delivery and technological advances
available in education, the School of Nursing has developed this innovative Concurrent Enrollment program. The Concurrent Enrollment program is an entry-level BSN program that allows students to complete their degree while remaining in their community.

The Concurrent Enrollment program blends ODU RN-BSN course work with the AAS curriculum thus, each semester students will have a schedule that includes AAS nursing courses at the affiliated institution and online ODU RN-BSN courses. For consideration for this program, students must apply separately to the nursing programs of the affiliated institutions. The AAS courses will be taken on site at the affiliated campuses and associated clinical sites. The ODU nursing courses will be delivered using an online format.

Concurrent Enrollment students will first graduate from the AAS program. Graduation from ODU occurs upon completion of all BSN courses and success on the NCLEX-RN. Proof of licensure as a registered nurse must be supplied to the School of Nursing at ODU prior to the student being awarded a BSN degree. Students will be able to complete the AAS-BSN course work in two years. All lower-division general education requirements must be completed and posted to students' transcripts prior to entrance into Concurrent Enrollment.
