Students enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Rural Policy are offered a choice of over a dozen courses that will prepare them with the skills and competencies needed to understand economic, social, political and cultural dynamics of rural places, and to design and evaluate rural policy as it pertains to their context.
Rooted in social sciences and various natural resource sciences, students will gain valuable inter-disciplinary insights into complex challenges facing rural places.
The OSU School of Public Policy is the best place for most students to receive this training because it offers the only rural public policy concentration among any university in the western U.S. and it has a long history of collaboration with rural experts, stakeholders, and partners around the world.
The certificate is comprised of 2 required substantive core courses, a capstone writing experience, and 8 or more credits of electives.
