The program leads to a Bachelor of Science in Surveying Engineering Technology. This is a four-year degree required to become licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor in New Jersey. The program does not guarantee licensure but is a required step in the process. The program is designed for students who already possess an Associate's Degree in Surveying Engineering Technology and for those with a Civil Engineering degree or a degree in Geography/GIS desiring to become a licensed land surveyor.
The program provides three pathways for students interested in this career:
High school students or those with no college credits
Students interested in starting the program as a first-year begin the degree at Rowan College at South Jersey (RCSJ).

Those who possess an Associate's Degree in Surveying Engineering Technology
Surveying technicians working in the field who have an Associate's Degree in Surveying Engineering Technology can apply to the program as a degree completion or transfer student depending upon the amount of transferable credits.

Graduates with a Civil Engineering or related degree
Those who already have an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, or other geospatial degrees and want to become a licensed land surveyor can apply for a second bachelor's degree and must complete 30+ credits in the program depending on previous coursework. Transfer credit is available on a case-by-case basis.
