The Master of Science in Teaching (M.S.T.) in Theatre Education program offers the unique opportunity to pursue an initial New Jersey teaching certificate and a Master's degree simultaneously. If you are interested in teaching theatre in K-12 classrooms and have an undergraduate theatre degree, this program is tailored for you.

The M.S.T. program is a full-time program. The program cycle includes two summer sessions, a fall semester, and a spring semester. Teachers in the state of New Jersey may apply to the Master of Science in Teaching (M.S.T.) in Theatre Education program through the New Jersey Teacher Outreach Program (NJTOP®). College Transcript and Copy of Original Degree – If you have completed more than one degree, all academic credentials should be submitted. Additionally, if your document is not translated to English a certified English translation is required.
Standardized English language test score – a TOEFL minimum score of 70, IELTS minimum score of 6.0, PTE minimum score of 50 or Duolingo test minimum score of 120 for traditional admissions.

Recommendations – a minimum of 2 are required for Master’s programs, and a minimum of 3 are required for Doctoral (Ph.D.) programs.
Statement of professional objectives – Provide reasons for pursuing the program applied. Describe how you will use this program to reach your career goes, and educational goals beyond the master’s level if applicable. Students should also identify personal qualities that they want the committee to see in them, such as leadership, concerns for others, talent, etc.
