About Master of Mathematics

Overview The department is housed in the recently renovated Carnegie Library building on the main campus quadrangle. Programs of study include those for M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mathematics, with or without a concentration in Statistics, and for M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mathematics Education.In collaboration with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in the College of Engineering, we offer concurrent M.S. degrees in mathematics and computer science. Students complete a total of 51 credits, 30 in mathematics and 21 in computer science. Students who want to pursue this program should have a solid background in undergraduate mathematics, and knowledge of programming in high-level languages and of algorithms and data structures adequate for graduate study in computer science. I want to find another Master Course Research AreasThe Syracuse University department’s Colloquium series features weekly lectures by mathematicians from all over the United States and abroad in many of the areas of mathematical research represented in the department. Furthermore several of the research groups organize regular research seminars. Colloquia and seminar schedules, along with other information about our programs, courses, and events. Accreditation Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

The Syracuse University Department of Mathematics has 32 faculty members, with research interests in several areas of mathematics, statistics, and mathematics education, and approximately 55 graduate students.
