The Master's in Cybersecurity multidisciplinary curriculum draws courses from the University of Arizona's programs in Management Information Systems (MIS), Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE), and Systems & Industrial Engineering (SIE).

The 33 credit program is designed for working IT, engineering, and other professionals who have three years of technical work experience and want to boost their skills for a cybersecurity career path.

The degree focuses on effectively applying analytical and critical thinking to plan and execute security measures to shield an organization's computer systems, networks, and networked devices from infiltration and cyberattacks.

Students engage in theoretical and hands-on approaches to learn the critical components of cybersecurity. Cybersecurity courses cover topics such as business intelligence data mining, information security, risk management, systems security management, penetration testing, network security, system cybersecurity engineering and cyber warfare.

The 100% online program offers six admission dates throughout the year.

Entry Requirements

Admissions Requirements

For domestic students a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
For international students an US comparable Bachelor's degree.
GPA score of 3.0 or higher (for the last 60 units completed)

At least one of the three items listed below:

Three (2) years of technical work experience (does not include internships)
Relevant industry certificate (i.e. CISSP, CRISC, CISM, etc.)
Recent (within one year of MS Cybersecurity degree application) undergraduate degree in MIS, ECE, CS, SIE, or related field

Supporting application documentation needed include:

Three (3) letters of recommendation (application system will ask for recommenders contact information and it will send out the requests for you online.)
Current resume which includes employment history, education, awards/honors, memberships and participation in professional organizations (uploaded during the application process.)
Purpose of Graduate Study. A document stating your goals and objectives of gaining this degree and how obtaining this degree will impact your career path. (uploaded during the application process.)
Copies of transcripts (uploaded during the application process.)
Official transcripts (sealed) from all institutions attended. Send your official transcripts to the address below.
