The accelerated BS Health Sciences /MS Nutrition and Dietetic Practice combined degree pathway is designed for undergraduate students who plan to pursue a career as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). This program delivers exceptional value, allowing you to enter professional practice sooner, and with less financial investment, than you would if you completed both degree programs separately. Starting in January 2024, a graduate degree will be required to become an RDN.
Program Format
As a student in our accelerated program, you will complete all pre-professional coursework during your first three years of study on the East Falls campus. In our stimulating and supportive environment, you will build a strong foundation in sciences and humanities, preparing you for success in upper-division courses for your MS in Nutrition and Dietetic Practice (MS/RDN program) at the Center City campus. Students in the Health Sciences dual degree programs take courses with other pre-medical and health students, while experiencing college life on the East Falls campus.
If you maintain progression criteria, you will interview and are guaranteed a seat in the professional program. Your academic advisors and faculty work closely with you on course selection and academic progression to ensure you’re on pace to transition into the professional phase of the program at the start of your fourth year.
As long as you successfully follow our suggested curriculum path and meet all program requirements, you will be awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences in December of your fourth year, and your Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetic Practice in December of your fifth year.
