Overview At the University of California, Santa Barbara we offer a master degree in Geography. Ph.D. students may add an optional interdisciplinary doctoral emphasis in Cognitive Science, Environment and Society, Global Studies, Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences (QMSS), or Technology and Society (CITS), Transportation, and Demography. Geography graduate students participate in major research centers at UCSB, including the Center for Spatial Studies (spatial@ucsb), the Earth Research Institute (ERI), the Institute for Social, Behavioral and Economics Research (ISBER), and the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS).Areas of research specialization include:Earth system science (atmospheric, hydrologic, oceanic, and terrestrial systems and their interactions);Human geography (1. human spatial behavior, spatial decision making, and decision support, 2. urban and regional modeling, planning, and policy, 3. human movement and transportation systems, 4. migration, networks, and health, 5. resource and environmental management, 6. environmental ethics, and 7. human response to the changing environment);Modeling, measurement, and computation (numerical modeling, spatial statistics, time series analysis, remote sensing, computational modeling, and database systems, including GIS and visualization) I want to find another Master Course
