CCM, in partnership with UC's nationally ranked Lindner College of Business, boasts one of the few MA and combined MA/MBA arts administration programs in the United States. The program aims to train future CEOs and senior managers of nonprofit arts institutions. Emphasis is placed on preparing students to make sound decisions within the context of rapidly changing internal and external circumstances.
Coursework in business theory and practice is applied to the specific operating conditions of orchestras, theatres, opera companies, dance companies, and other not-for-profit arts institutions. The Arts Administration program is small and selective, accepting only eight to ten students per cohort. Founded in 1976, the program has graduated over 300 students, boasting a 100 percent annual job placement rate annually, with over 80 percent of total graduates currently holding positions with professional arts organizations.
CCM is a college within the University of Cincinnati, a major undergraduate university and graduate research institution of more than 40,000 students. The synergy created by housing CCM within a comprehensive public university gives the college its unique character and defines its objective: to educate and inspire the whole artist and scholar for positions on the world's stage.
