CCM's Doctor of Musical Arts in Harpsichord offers advanced harpsichord students the opportunity to hone technical expertise, musicianship and knowledge in the center of Cincinnati, a next-generation city revered for the arts. In addition to unparalleled performance opportunities, CCM's doctoral students learn from and perform with esteemed musicians in world-class facilities.
The performance-based curriculum includes weekly private lessons with faculty mentors, chamber music coaching and many opportunities to gain hands-on experience. DMA Harpsichord students perform solo and chamber music degree recitals, complete coursework in repertory, pedagogy, performance preparation, musicology, research and writing techniques and produce a final scholarly document or project. CCM's unique cognate program enables students to develop a secondary field of expertise. Our faculty of eminent artist-teachers offer students one-on-one attention and opportunities to perform in the tri-state region and globally.
Graduates of CCM can be found as leading pedagogues at major conservatories around the world, and as performers, composers, orchestrators and directors of competitions.
