The Department of Kinesiology and Applied Physiology's master's degree in clinical exercise physiology provides students with the opportunity to develop an in-depth knowledge and hands-on experiences in preventive and rehabilitative practices for patients with cardiopulmonary, metabolic and musculoskeletal diseases as well as apparently healthy and low risk populations. Clinical exercise physiologists act as a part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team that develops exercise recommendations, administers diagnostic tests and provides guidance that promotes healthy lifestyles.
The program is small and personal with student experiences culminating in a portfolio that showcases the students' knowledge and expertise in clinical exercise physiology. The Department of Kinesiology and Applied Physiology has state-of-the-art exercise stress testing, body composition, lipid/glucose monitoring, bicycle ergometry and metabolic assessment equipment and highly trained faculty to support the master of science in clinical exercise physiology.
