About Master of Economics

The Department of Economics offers programs leading to Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in economics. The Ph.D. and M.S. programs emphasize strong economic and econometric analysis with areas of specialization including development economics, household and consumer finance, industrial organization, labor economics, applied macroeconomics and environmental economics.

The curricula provide students with a balance between a core of microeconomic, macroeconomic and econometric theory and applied courses in the fields listed above. These programs prepare individuals for careers in academia, as well as professional careers involving applied economic analysis in both the public and private sectors.
