    About

The Environmental Economics and Management (EEM) major at the University of Georgia is designed for students who want to make a difference when it comes to wise, efficient, and productive management of public and private natural and environmental resources.

The curriculum addresses critical environmental issues from a business and scientific perspective.  Students are trained to understand and appreciate the non-economic aspects of resource and environmental problems, including social, ecological, physical, and legal considerations, all while serving as members of interdisciplinary teams involved in resource and environmental management, planning, and analysis.

EEM career opportunities are available in multiple public and private institutions in natural and environmental resource analysis and management.  The major also prepares graduates for further study in the fields of agricultural and environmental economics, natural resource economics, and law.

Study Abroad Options: Agriculture and Ecology in Tropical America - Guatemala (odd-numbered years) or Costa Rica (even-numbered years); International Agribusiness Marketing and Management: Focus on Mexico; Sustainable Agriculture in Mediterranean Regions; Tanzania; Armenia

    How to Apply

UGA supports two different application platforms for First-Year applications. Students should only submit one of these applications. We do not prefer any particular application platform, so please select the option that works best for you and your school counselor. While we are still members of the Coalition for College, we will not be accepting applications on that platform for students applying for Fall 2023.
