A growing number of companies transact a significant portion of their business through international channels. Even those corporations conducting business strictly in the U.S. have to compete with foreign imports and for foreign labor. As a result, major corporations that take advantage of international marketing have a competitive edge.
UGA has designed its Marketing and International Business co-major to assist students in developing an in-depth understanding of the international marketing and business arena. Students take courses in the international business environment, economics, strategic management, marketing research and strategy, international marketing, and others. Students must also satisfy an international immersion requirement such as a study abroad program, internship, or additional foreign languages.
(Refer to the Pre-Business major for information on applying.)
Many graduates move directly into lucrative sales or management training programs or pursue careers in research, brand management, digital management, or social media analysis. Others go on to graduate programs to prepare for academic or professional careers.
There are many study abroad options for marketing students, see here: https://studyaway.uga.edu/
