The certificate in Global Studies at UGA is designed to facilitate the ability to communicate in different languages, develop an appreciation for other cultures, and promote informed analysis of global issues. The curriculum encompasses four areas: a set of global core courses in theory and methods, foreign language, cultural and foreign studies, and global issues such as ecology, peace, development, demography, etc.
Students gain both education and vocational purpose through an understanding of global affairs and other cultures with preparation for a growing number of international careers in government, business, multinational civic and economic organizations, nonprofit humanitarian institutions, and non-governmental organizations.
