Designed to complement majors in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the Certificate in International Agriculture gives students a global outlook and exposure to other agricultural cultures.
Students concentrate on a specific country or region of the world, gaining a working knowledge of the language as well as an understanding of the area's environmental, social, political, and cultural issues. Courses include international agriculture, economic development, international marketing, fighting hunger, crop & soil science, anthropology, geography, and others; careful planning allows most students to qualify for the certificate by taking coursework as general electives while meeting degree requirements. An internship abroad supplements student learning.
The certificate makes students more competitive in the job market. Employment opportunities exist in international agribusiness, international scientific companies, import & export companies, freight forwarders, international marketing firms, teaching abroad, government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and multinational companies.

UGA and CAES provide a multitude of study abroad options from two week adventures to semester exchange programs.
