The Integrated Pest Management certificate provides a broad-based, interdisciplinary educational experience in the three major areas of pest management: Entomology, Plant Pathology, and Weed Science.
Available course topics include but are not limited to weed identification and control, herbicides, insect pests, plant disease development, microbial biology, soil science, and turf pathology. The certificate is only available to undergraduate students enrolled in a degree program, and is awarded only with completion of that program's requirements.
Students who complete the certificate beneift from having a critical area of knowledge. Graduates have gone on to careers in the Cooperative Extension Service and similar programs, the agricultural chemical industry, golf course management, ornamental plant and turf production, and urban pest management.
