Overview In addition to the fundamental courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, theoretical meteorology, instruments and observations, and analysis, students may complete their meteorological requirements in a number of ways and may emphasize, for example, tropical meteorology, climatology, statistics, or computer applications. The Atmospheric Sciences program is offered by the University of Hawaii at Manoa.OpportunitiesWith the appropriate choice of courses, graduates can satisfy the requirements for civilian employment in the Federal meteorological agencies. A new graduate may be commissioned as a meteorological officer in the Air Force or Navy or appointed to a meteorological internship in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
