    As a student in this industry-driven program, you will learn to create virtual technologies for gaming, animated films, simulations, business and education, and other applications. You will study art and design, computer science, 3D modeling, animation, world building, storytelling, character design, spatial design, four-dimensional design, and much more.

    Design studios and hands-on projects provide opportunities to practice building virtual worlds for real clients. For example, you could help build second-life environments for education and health care, liquid scenery for student plays, interactive virtual realities for first-responder training, and animated films for a university festival.

    Requirements and Admission Criteria for Bachelor of Virtual Technology & Design at University of Idaho

    Entry Requirements

    If you are a freshman or first-year student:

    • Undergraduate applicants who have no previous work at the post-secondary level must have at least a 2.5 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) from a secondary school. Students must also meet the criteria for admission to university-level study in their home country.

    If you are a transfer student:

    • Undergraduate applicants who have attended a post-secondary institution and have completed at least 14 transferable semester credits at an accredited institution must present a minimum grade point average of 2.0 for all post-secondary work. For admission into the College of Engineering, transfer students must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.8. Other departments may have additional requirements. Students who have completed fewer than 14 transferable semester credits (post-secondary) must meet the freshman or first-year student requirements in addition to the transfer student requirements. 
    • Please note: Students transferring to the University of Idaho from another U.S. college or university must notify their current international student advisor of their plans to transfer to the University of Idaho.
