Get athletes back into the game.

As any athlete will tell you, playing sports can take a toll on the body. This program prepares you to help athletes prevent and recover from injuries or illness, regain strength, and get back into the competition.

As a student in this program, you will form an advanced understanding of the human body, how it functions, and how it heals. You will put your skills and knowledge to real world practice, with opportunities to work with student-athletes on campus and with other patients in the community.

Graduates of the program are eligible to become a certified athletic trainer.

Requirements and Admission Criteria for Master of Athletic Training at University of Idaho

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have a minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 grade scale equivalent to U.S. bachelor’s degree. If your GPA meets the minimum admission requirements, the department of major will determine if your overall academic record and test scores meet department requirements.

Note: If you do not meet the minimum 3.00 GPA, your application can be considered for admission if you:

Earned an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher for your last 60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits.

Worked in the program specific profession for 5+ years.
Obtained a letter of support from a faculty member in the department.
Wrote a detailed statement/essay describing your professional experience and potential to succeed academically

An international application for admission.
$70 application fee (nonrefundable).

If you have not yet graduated from your secondary school, a transcript showing all completed work may be accepted for early admission. External examination reports should be provided when applicable.
