    Overview Students in the Public Policy  program at University of Maryland Baltimore County master a common set of concepts and analytical tools, and complete additional courses in a study specialization. The curriculum is divided into 3 categories for a total of 37 credits. Courses are 3 credits each unless otherwise indicated.MissionOur mission is to provide quality education for a diverse range of high quality students (both full time and part time) with a variety of aspirations and career goals related to public policy. These include:Students who have recently completed their undergraduate education and are interested in pursuing careers in policy analysis, management, or research;In-service (mid-career) professionals who want to improve their abilities and qualifications;Students who have already completed a master’s degree in public policy, public administration, planning, or a related discipline and wish to pursue additional education;Individuals who are interested in teaching or research positions in public policy-related fields at academic institutions.

The public sector emphasis and training in evaluation and analytical methods distinguishes our program from others in the region.

    1The UMBC Graduate School will accept official WES ICAP Course-by-Course evaluations as fulfillment of the requirement for official transcripts in the admissions process. The WES evaluation is optional. The Graduate School needs to receive either an official WES evaluation or official transcripts. The WES ICAP Course-by-Course evaluation includes copies of the official transcripts and degree certificates that have been verified by WES, and it includes a course-by-course evaluation. The evaluation must be sent directly from WES to the UMBC Graduate School in order to be considered official.You will use Fully English and Fully another language when you find on the program website French, English or French or English.
