Students majoring in another discipline may wish to deepen and enrich their understanding by minoring in classical studies. A total of six courses must be taken to complete the minor program of study.
Prerequisite, Concentration, or Other Requirements
- At least six classical studies courses, of which no more than two may be at the 100-level, and at least two must be at or above the 300-level.
- Latin or Greek language courses may be substituted for up to two the required six Classical Studies courses. Latin 101 or Greek 101 may be counted only if the second semester of the elementary sequence (Latin 102 or Greek 102) has also been taken.
- With departmental approval, one of the six courses may be from an allied department.
- At least four of the courses taken for the minor must be taken in residency.
