The Communication Department offers a 12-course major. Effective fall 2020, students must then take three courses from the list of communication electives, and one course from the list of outside electives. At least two of these courses must be at the 300 level or higher.

COMM 480: Communication Seminar
The capstone topic varies from semester to semester, and is typically reflective of the research interests of the professor. Past topics have included computer mediated communication, privacy, dark side of relationships, and trial by media. Students must have completed all four core courses and 90 credits to enroll in the capstone. The capstone class may not be taken pass/fail; students must earn a C- or better in the capstone.
