UMass Boston's Urban Public Health Bachelor of Science program is designed for future leaders who aim to promote health equity in urban populations. Students are prepared with fundamental knowledge of public health science, education, and practice as well as an aptitude for critical problem solving, analysis and interpretation of data, and an understanding of socio-economic and cultural diversity among people in urban settings. Students participate in real-world public health practice experiences in community settings, governmental agencies, private sector, and health organizations.
The UPH BS prepares students for graduate education and for careers in state and local health departments, non-governmental organizations, health care organizations, private sector, federal agencies under the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), and others.
The Bachelor of Science in Urban Public Health will begin enrolling students as early as Fall 2023.
