    The Department of Teacher Education offers the Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A.E.) degree in the areas of elementary education, secondary education (English, mathematics, science, and social studies), and special education.

    At the graduate level, the department offers the Master of Education (M.Ed.) in curriculum and instruction, secondary education, special education, and early childhood education; the Master of Arts (M.A.) in Teaching (Teacher Corps option); the Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in curriculum and instruction, the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in elementary education and secondary mathematics education, and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in secondary education and special education.

    • GRE/GMAT: Applicants for master’s and doctoral programs in most disciplines should submit official test results of the general Graduate Record Exam (GRE) prior to consideration for admission. Most programs require the verbal and quantitative sections of the GRE. See the website of the program for which you are applying for specific information. Applicants should request that the Educational Testing Service (ETS) send official test scores directly to the Graduate School. Applicants for graduate study in business and accountancy are required to submit official results of the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). The university code number is 1840.
    • While GRE or GMAT is sufficient for most academic disciplines, some academic departments require other standardized test scores as part of their application process. For example, some departments in the School of Education require the Praxis Exam.
