The World Percussion Certificate provides students with a well-rounded program of study of world percussion in relation to commercial music. An understanding of historical elements in both traditional and contemporary settings is provided through MUS 125 (History of Rock) and MUS 127 (World's Music Live) with performance application through MUS 166 (World Percussion Techniques) and MUS 167 (World Percussion Ensemble). Private lessons (MUSA 164-1001 and 1002) provide one on one attention to learn and refine world percussion instrument-specific skills.
