    The Reading Specialist Certificate is for practicing teachers who already have a Master's degree, or who are in the process of earning one. This certificate supports the development of advanced knowledge in literacy, literacy development, and literacy curriculum, instruction and assessment. Students engage in coursework and practicum experiences in the use of assessment, curricular, and instructional knowledge to determine and meet the literacy needs of diverse students. The requirements for the program are aligned with the Nevada State Reading Specialist Endorsement requirements.

    Note: Students who are enrolled in this program solely may not qualify for Federal Financial Aid.

    3. Minimum undergraduate grade point average (on a 4.0 scale):
      • 2.75 for a master’s degree

    6. Official GRE or GMAT test scores from an exam taken within the past 5 years (exam requirement and recommended scores are determined by individual programs)
